mike douglas: Well, I guess all Threads have a drop off on occasion. Maybe the slow period for the Web Site is a direct reflection of the slowness of the Thread as well. I have been unable to come up with fundamentals that actually support valuations at these levels for several years. However, I am primarily a Technical Analyst, so I go with what my analysis tells me, up or down. I do think that areas of inflation are being offset for business. One area that is a major expense for businesses in general that continues to get cheaper is technology. So, I choose not to eat grapes sour or sweet...just give me a glass of wine instead...<g> Regards, LG

Hi MD .. OK .. I'll give you something to chew on.... On Friday there are a set of stocks that the owners of have been paid to sell. There is another set that the owners of have been paid to buy. At this time the stocks that will be sold greatly outweigh the stocks that have been paid for to be bought. Many people, knowing the above, will be very tempted to lighten their load before this pile of lonely stocks look for a new home .. Liquidity driven market .. supply and demand are only issues needed to be considered .. Earnings, good or bad, are only tools that help in the job of selling stocks. Press releases are only tools that help .. Upgrades and downgrades are only tools .. All the substance of the smoke and mirrors used to do only one thing .. move stocks in and out. Commissions are only generated when stocks are on the move. The largest movement of stocks is generated when the tools are applied in the same direction of the current overall pressures being applied to the market. The pressure is to many stocks looking for a home. (supply exceeding demand) FWIW I could be very wrong, been there to many times to remember. But that's what I see. 100% cash as of close 7/9/99.
