I may be moving to Indonesia before the end of the year.

And you may be told to move back sometime after the beginning.... <VBG>

Political stability in Indonesia is certainly in question.

<<I may be moving to Indonesia before the end of the year>>

May I suggest doing a LOT of research on Indonesia before seriously considering that?

I know of few other countries that have such a potential of widespread and mutli-level disruptions, due to their current economic situition, political, religious and y2k potential to unravel that country.

BTW, those countries with the fewest computers, this one for example, also potentially face the greatest number of disruptions , %-wise, due to having the least awareness, fewest and fewest highly trained programmers/engineers available, that started the latest, with the fewest dollars available/allocated to fixes.

On the brighter side, Indonesia should be safer than Chicago, Houston, LA, and our other major cities! In fact, so should almost every other city in the world!

p.s. The numerous articles about China's potential disruptions in banking, grid, telecom, air, heavy transport, etc., are very, very grim.....they could potentially disintegrate into warlord realms, as in pre-WW1 China, except their very rural areas which may be among the best off/safest/non-affected, in the world, due to having virtually no computers-they have no crime and by in large are used to living off-grid, and are largely self-sufficient.
(their food is gruel, quite the opposite of the larger city wonderful Cantonese, Mandarin, or the other delicious styles- these villagers would not even recognize that food!)
