Gearge D., Your work of IP over FC shows that you are always ahead of the curve....Could you expand on the importance of IP and FC from your point of view. Thanks in advance.

" I have been looking at the issue of IP over FC lately and the adapter companies that support IP. The number seems to have grown - so far on my list EMLX, QLGC, and INPH adapters all support IP over FC.

Did you hear anything about IP over FC and zoning that would separate IP from SCSI traffic on the same fabric?"

V. Cerf when speaking about the next generation Internet......

Cerf: I'm very egalitarian about all of this. You know, I have a T-shirt that says IP on everything and I want to make sure that we can run the Internet protocol on HDSL, ADSL, one-way satellite, cable systems, anything that we can possibly use: I don't believe in the apocalyptic view that any one technology or any one organization will dominate everyone else. I actually believe that Internet will find niches and convenient uses in all the various media, whether it's wireless or otherwise. So I actually encourage the telephone companies to make use of any of the technologies that make economic sense, including ISDN, where they can be of benefit to a customer.

So for FC to reach the market size we want and to reach those projections that ANCR suggested could happen with Internet2
we need as much IP on FC as possible?

Nothing would propel the whole FC segment more than tying it closer to the internet.
