Rory, (OT) Heh-heh. Not a bad rate of return on a three-month investment, no? Welcome to the world of value stocks. Looks like James Cherney, you and I are the only ones on the Thread that bought SFLX-we got lucky. I have located three more potential value plays in the tech sector- one selling at 1/3 book value, another selling at 75% of book value, and the last selling at 1.25 times book value but has announced a series of (IMO) significant contract wins over the last six weeks and noone seems to have noticed. All three release earnings in the next two weeks so we should get a read of what's going on....Haven't bought yet- just studying......I'll send the ideas to you offline, and anyone else who wants them contact me off of this Thread so that we don't clutter up the OS Thread with tech stuff. BTW IMO the whole E&P sector is studded with value plays IMO. I think that E&P companies are making money "hand over fist" right now- the next series of earnings reports should give us an idea if that is true....my next door neighbor sells drilling tools- and he says business is picling up nicely for him, so OS companies should see some benefit shortly too, at least service companies if not drilling companies.... Hey as to dinner in Phoenix, I'll take you up on that sometime. I have about 45+ relatives and in-laws that live in and around Phoenix (big family). so I get to Phoenix three or four times/year. I say we call out all interested investors from SI to meet and swap ideas, maybe at the Macayo Restaurant on Central Avenue, in the large bar area that is casual and has lots of tables and is not too noisy. Alternatively I recommend Greasewood Flats-a rickety western bar out in the desert not too far past Pinnacle Peak Restaurant- spectacular desert sunsets surrounded by moutains and lots of outside tables to chew the fat- but far out of Phoenix...
