Meanwhile, it is so ubiquitous that other firms have no problem copying it, or, in the case of the K7, improving on it, and bringing down prices.

Michael, have you checked out what AMD will be asking for K7 out of the shoot? Hardly bringing down prices. $324 to $699 depending on speed grade. Also, I would certainly argue the "no problem copying it" statement, but that's another debate.
