OT Stanford Stadium does have some chair seating around the 50 yard line, but it probably represents only 5-10% of the seating and is of course top dollar. Maples Pavilion (Stanford Basketball) seating is even more uncomfortable. Not sure why, it could just be psychological. I'll pay more attention to why the next time I'm there.

Overall, however, Stanford's athletic facilities are incredible - they are building a beautiful new swim center, finished the new Arriaga Family Tennis Center not too long ago, the Sunken Baseball Diamond is impressive, et. al.

Given this kind of support, it is no surprise that Stanford's athletic program produces more winning teams across a wider range of sports than any other university in the nation.
