RE:"What the heck is a WEGA XBR TV? Any why only 36"? :-)

Sony flat screen, horizontal and vertical planes. Can display 10 channels at once. 36"...because it's a picture tube, not rear projection.
They are coming out with several new versions of the WEGA tube, BTW.
S, V, VS, XBR.

I looked at a 36" WEGA TV at a local retailer and was not very impressed by the stability of the image. Maybe it was a bad sample, but I would suggest you try this. Look at an image as it changes from dark to bright, and see what happens (you can have the channel graphic on to help in the process). The image contracts and expands with a change in brightness. This does not happen in most high end computer monitors (but does in budget ones), and is a sign of a poor or poorly regulated power supply if I remember correctly.

Adam - Re: "What the heck is a WEGA XBR TV? Any why only 36"? :-)"

The Sony WEGA - pronounced Vega - is a super FLAT SCREEN CRT TV.

They come in 32 and 36 inches (and I have seen 27 and 30 inch ads as well).

These seem to be the best TV's with the largest picture that I can find.

I generally don't like the larger projection TVs.
