Dell is on the cutting edge now and has huge marketing advantage, IMO needs to develop gigabuy.com better, their accessory pricing needs to be more competitive as well. Hard to argue with success, but don't rest to on laurels, there's dangers with doing diworsification, take a look at CPQ for a good example.

Hi. RE: One thing that bothers me about Dell is its not making acquisitions into other arena's to cushion futureshock from PC sales slumps.

What about Dell acquiring Tandy to get immediate access to the low to medium priced PC consumer market. With over 7,000 retail locations this would leapfrog over Gateway and also give huge parts and accessories sales. Any thoughts on this subject?

DBrian,
Hi!!!

RE: One thing that bothers me about Dell is its not making acquisitions into other arena's to cushion futureshock from PC sales slumps. The recent slump should have been a wake-up call to MD. What arena's you may ask? How about wireless? Those who snooze here will lose.Or maybe broadband? I love this company but wish it was more aggressive into other arena's. Thoughts??

BE PATIENT.....If you're long......You'll be rewarded....

:o)

Best, Kemble

Better to be prudent and think things through rather than be aggressive rush in and make bad deals. Just ask CPQ.
