I think New Yorkers are put in a tough spot here. There are those who simply will not vote for an out-of-stater to be Senator from New York. The preference is for someone home grown; someone who at least has a grasp of the issues of some part of the State (nobody in New York City has an inkling about what's troubling Buffalo, and vice versa). Rudy, who has some annoying quirks, has been an excellent Mayor, and is a great administrator. Does that translate to the Senate? He's being "forced" to run by New York City's term limits laws which preclude him from running again for Mayor. The Governor's job is simply not open now. So, we are in a tough spot; neither one would be my first choice for Senator.

Melinda, I can see your point. And I agree that she is a very strong and knowledgeable person. It would be interesting to see how she does, if she is elected. But at this point in time, it seems that a lot of people are dead-set against her because of many factors that most of us are aware of. And the fact that she isn't a New Yorker isn't going to be a plus. I can't vote on it either. I know she has to be a pro at dodging arrows, or she never would have survived this long. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. C Kahn
