Will y2k hysteria kill the Bull?

That's the 64,000.00 dollar question.

I am confident most major players are ready for Y2k. But, that doesn't
mean we want see a major correction based on investor fears.

I would be very interested in Voltair's (and others as well) view and possible strategy to hedge against any downside risk.

Best wishes

Hi Unc,

Interesting question about y2k. My personal opinion is that the y2k " problem " will be the greatest farce ever foisted on the American people. Any problems and their impact will be inversely proportional to the amounts of monies involved. Remember, what was the first U.S. entity to be declared in compliance, yep, the U.S. stock exchanges. Next, Social Security, next, U.S. Airlines and then almost every Tel-Co. If money or profit and loss is involved, forget about it. That being said, it is my opinion that this crap will affect our bull market but not in a short term correction. I feel like will be more of a slow drag on the market throughout the next five months.

As for my strategy and the people I invest for, I will be writing relatively deep in the money calls somewhere around the 19th of this month, ( around 20% calls.). I feel this market is close to topping out for the next couple of months. Like several people have said, buy the quality on the dips and get ready for one of the greates rallies of all time after the New Year.

from the porch,

Voltaire
