I have read the article that Mussolini wrote for the 11th edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. He does not emphasize oppression, obviously, although he does suggest that an aggressive foreign policy is a good thing, as a bulwark against national decadence. Mein Kampf is pretty bad. Anyway, the main point of interest was the way in which fascism grew out of elements taken from both Right and Left...
