The average selling price fell just 2 percent to $908 from $928 in April, according to PC Data Corp., compared with a 19 percent slide in April. Still, the average price in May is well below the $1,127 average price of a year ago. Unit shipments of PCs that cost less than $1,000 more than doubled in May from a year ago, and accounted for 68 percent of all sales, PC Data said.
