Let's check again in five years.
My prediction is that ATHM will swallow AOL in that time. AOL will fail in their attempt to force governmental mandate on the "open access" issue, and broadband will exponentially replace all dial-up access. Anyone who has broadband access would never go back. Two-way video conferencing with everyone else in the world and entertainment on demand piped into everyone's house through a broadband connection will leave AOL's e-mail and shopping nonsense in the dust.


I second that notion. Let us hope politics don't ruin this broadband beauty...not yet at least.

ATHM wide deployment will create dozens of new companies. Forget pesky CD's people will download software that can today take an hour in a matter on one minute.
