Other ways to eliminate traffic deaths are: 1. Change the nut behind the steering wheel. 2. Go back to horse and wagons. 3. Make obtaining a driver's license as difficult as getting a private pilot's license. 4. Confiscate all guns, then pass federal laws outlawing automobiles. Anyone who protests will be considered a rabble-rouser and an enemy of the State and federal police will have orders to arrest on sight. Minimum sentence: 5 years in a federal prison. Of course some who have great societal needs shall be exempt and will be issued special federal permits to own and operate a motor vehicle -- which will be designed like a marshmallow and reach speeds of 50 mph (fast enough to catch horseback riders). Those who will qualify will be law enforcement offers, politicians, and lawyers... FT
