This morning there was a very big, very green frog looking at me when I came down the stairs. He was sitting on one of the new chairs. I went over to him and said, what are you doing here? But he didn't answer. He was plastic. He had an on-off switch, and he scared the hell out of me when I turned it on. I still don't know why he's there. I just left him sitting, thinking someone would claim him. He's still there. THe cats won't get near him. I think that's because when I showed him to them, and they came over to smell him, I hit the on button. They're so cute when they get all fluffed out like that.

Is this a jumping contest? Like Mark Twain? Oh well, my frog would lose.

<I like frogs. Some live in my bushes, but I've never seen them.>

Speaking of such things... I was just out looking at the goldfish in the pond out by the herb garden. There's a very small frog sitting in the middle of a water lettuce that is floating around with the goldfish nudging at it. It looks like it's in frog heaven....

BTW, the goldfish never bother the frogs... we run a peaceable kingdom here...

I can relate to not wanting to drive the wrong way on a one-way street, just because a cop is telling you to do it. If you run head-on into a car, is the cop gonna pay for it? And what if someone gets hurt? And cops aren't exactly rocket scientists, you know. So, I would double-check to see if it was ok.

We (and hundreds of others) were directed to drive on the left side of a two-way street after the Fourth of July fireworks, and I definitely doublechecked before I pulled out into traffic. I may drive like a maniac, but I'm a cautious maniac.
