Seconds Out:

"Additonally, don't forget that the mere activity of them selling will create negative pressure on the stock price as it provides abundant supply of stock to meet whatever demand is occuring"

Another possibility (more optimistic) is that the Converts just close out their (assumed) short position - causing no impact on supply.

However - I prefer the more optimistic possibility that the Converts switch camps and go long using all their resources to drive the price up that we've assumed they used to drive the price down. As you mentioned - it would surely be in their best interest.

In any event - the next couple of weeks are going to be interesting.

Here's some interesting but useless information. General Magic was working on a project back in 94 for Intuit.

I noticed that for the PDA market you came out with a different product called Pocket Quicken. Why did you feel the need to do that? PDAs aren't going to be a mass-market success this year or even next year. But ultimately they will be. And when they are, they'll be used for things that desktop machines aren't very good at. One is tracking financial matters when you are away from your desktop. PDAs allow us to capture that spending at the point of purchase in a way that you just can't with a desktop computer.

Doesn't Pocket Quicken use a different metaphor--the credit card? Yes, although it depends on the particular platform we're working on. We've done custom builds for each PDA. [For General Magic], it's a wallet. And it's the first attempt to do an electronic wallet or what we call an intelligent wallet.
