Spots,

Don't think thats his problem since it appears he's using DHCP and has successfully two computers talking to the internet fine. The problem can lie in Workgroup name collisions, computer name collisions/ WINS Nightmares/ Security because file sharing is accessible over the internet via TCP/IP.

That said. All he needs to do is add netbeui, unbind MS networking from TCP/IP and he should be ready to go.

We went through this with Dave H. a while back. I would still consider Sygate as a firewall between the net and his network. Netbeui eliminates the file share hole but using DHCP and direct connect he is still suspect to TCP/IP denial of service attacks and port scanning applications.
