I have read that some parents want their children main-streamed, and fight for their children's right not to be put in special ed classes.

And not all school districts have the money to give meaningful special education to children who need it. No matter what the problem is, they all get lumped in together, which is very stigmatic.

In our school, they are mainstreamed. They go off for an hour or two at a time several times a week for special help, but the rest of the time they are mainstreamed.
