<a gimmicky front door to the site.> Thank God we all are different and have different opinions!

Sorry, but this, excitextreme.com, IMHO, is far better than this speed.snap.com

Exite is coming around and I am xcited by their growth to TRY to be more appealing!!!

Respectfully,

Kevin

I'm not saying it's a great portal (and I'm not saying that such a thing exists anywhere since I never use the things myself), but it at least does a far better job than the Excite example of putting rich media in the forefront. Another advantage is that it does so throughout most of its sections and not just in a gimmicky front door to the site.

Ah, but the extreme site sets the baseline off of what the site of the future will look like. Extreme has not even scratched the surface with regards to what it can morph into in the future. The snap entrance portal is almost entirely text based and static, and thus, much more easily put together. Nothing special. The extreme site, on the other hand, utilizes Flash technology, which takes incredible amounts of programming synchrony to make an operational site. That 'front door' of extreme takes about 2-3 times longer to design as it does to create the *entire* speedy snap site.

The extreme site is certainly a work in progress. At the same time although, it is a work of art.
