Hogwash!
Internet stocks will rise above the expected "value" investors might put on them and will probably shake down from their so called lofty perches (which no-one can define yet).
They are NOT quantifiable until the limits of the growth of the internet is determined.
The internets will exceed expectations both up and down until they "find" their true value in the future.
And this is not a fly-by-night phenomenon, it is a longterm evolving revolution IMO.
Investors now are buying market share and are looking to the future to try and determine the big players....it has nothing to do with earnings per share, it has to do with who will end up being the "big boys on the block" and the trading volitility will continue until that is determined, and that will be determined when the true impact and size of the internet on world wide commerce can be quantified.
I say Bob is looking at the internets in a "conventional" way, as anyother stock and these are not anyother stocks they are a breed all their own that have not been defined or corraled yet.
