CBs do not have transparent markets in currencies. They don't normally come out and announce they are intervening for or against a certain currency.

If gold is a currency, then neither will it have a transparent marketplace, since its broader trading trend is dictated by the requirements of the CBs policymaking committee.

That's the problem with gold. It can't be both currency and commodity and retain a fair market value.
