Sunterra Corporation Announces New Property
Management Contract

ORLANDO, Fla., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunterra Corporation (NYSE: OWN)
announced today that its Marc Resorts subsidiary has entered into an exclusive
management agreement with The Island Colony Partnership to serve as property
manager and marketing agent for the Island Colony Hotel, a 720-unit property
located along the tranquil Ala Wai Canal, near the center of Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii.
Beginning January 2000, Marc Resorts will manage units at the property
succeeding the current property manager (Aston Hotels & Resorts) for a 10-year
contract term.

The Island Colony Hotel is located steps away from the center of Waikiki's
world-renowned shopping, entertainment and dining experiences, as well as world
famous Waikiki beach. The property offers all of the amenities that make it a
popular destination of leisure travelers around the world, including a pool, spa,
sauna, restaurant and activities center.

Team up to Market Vacation Ownership on Cable TV,
Internet

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Sunterra Corporation (NYSE: OWN), the world's largest vacation ownership company, has formed an exclusive partnership
with Short Shopping, a division of Home Shopping Network, to market and sell Club
Sunterra trial memberships and resort vacations to consumers.

The innovative marketing partnership creates a new distribution channel for both the
rental of condominium-style resort accommodations and trial programs in Club
Sunterra. Club Sunterra is Sunterra Corporation's member- based vacation club
that offers accommodations at Sunterra Resorts around the world as well as other
leisure related products and services.

The marketing programs with Short Shopping include the development of multiple
media channels, including long and short form direct selling television formats,
traditional TV commercials and interactive marketing using the Internet.

Currently some 4 million U.S. households participate in vacation ownership. The
industry has experienced a 15 percent compounded growth rate over the past 20
years using traditional industry marketing programs that have only penetrated
limited segments of qualified consumer households. This new agreement between
Sunterra and Short Shopping opens new and broader channels of distribution for

Jefferies Eclipses Sunterra's 1999 EPS View, But Says Buy (OWN)

(NewsTraders.com)--Due to Hurricane Floyd's impact on vacationers' Caribbean and Southeast plans, Jefferies Co. analyst Mark Benson today lowered his 1999 earnings-per-share estimates on fun-in-the-sun timeshare company Sunterra Corp. (OWN).

Benson said the hurricane's damage to sales and tours has turned shares of Sunterra into an "exceptional buying opportunity."
