....selling puts to get out of margin Freeus.... I use Brown and am quite content, however they are not good on advice regarding strategies. Since you've low margin, just do it (assume you've researched the PUTs). I manage an account where the owner doesn't want the stock to be sold so I trade short PUTs against the margin availability. The account maintains a credit balance so the approach should work if the margin is low, just watch it closely in case you get PUT the issues. Tom
