hi alan,

netscape is my default browser, win95 is my os.

can not prevent loadwc from running by unchecking the box, clicking apply and okay and rebooting.... have tried it several times.

i guess the registry edit is the only way to go, other than a prog like 'startup manager'. sure seems like unchecking that box ought to work, though.

it's not critical, by any means. i'd just like to get familiar with managing the start up programs, and this looks like as good a place as any to begin.

:)

alan,

just to let you know, i did find a site where one can download startup manager freeware.

info.apnpc.com.au

as this review is dated '97, there may be more current versions than 2.0 available, and i'll look for that.

meanwhile, i'm paying particular attention to the last sentence in the write up... "but you should have a pretty good understanding of how the Registry works before using it."

[edit] here is another product review and download site. and it looks like 2.0 is most current version:

sharewarejunkies.com

:)
