I agree 100%.

I should have said People use AOL now because it is perceived to be a simple, easy way to get on the internet.

These people include my father who can not be coaxed off AOHell or away from his Apple PC no matter how the rest of the family uses Windows PCs with decent ISPs and can't help him with the apple.... so he is stuck being unable to view attachments or view many websites the rest of the family posts pictures at or attach in email.

That "perception" is hard to beat, but it will happen and then AOL will have to scramble to find new revenue to justify its multiple...
not something I care to invest in, but some think the vision of Case will rule out....
