While over a friends I couldn't help but notice a flier from webAuction.com and the header had the names of the products that you can expect to find on their web sight; Compaq, Toshiba, Epson, Iomega,H-P, APC, Intel, JVC, Sony, IBM,and 3Com. I like Iomega's company.

Was visiting CPQ's web site, Zip's inclusion rate has increased.
compaq.com

To add to Edwin's post about NEC Zip at Fry's, the secondary market ( those that supply the so called white box builders ) has been selling NEC Zip's for quite awhile. It's the Zip drive of choice because it's cheaper and includes a disk, cost is $63.00, they're a great seller at $79.00. The major OEM's have to be picking these up for a lot less probably the $30-$40 range. If you eliminate the 1.44 floppy the OEM could include Zip for an added cost of only $20-$30.

IMO what happens from here is a couple of major sub $800 machines builders will include Zip as standard and it's all over.

All just my opinion, and glad to see Compaq back.
