Well, in general she was a law-abiding soul (and rather cute), except when it came to tickets. Which seemed to be a point of pride with her. She could explain to me in no uncertain terms just how ridiculous it was that the cop gave her this one, that one, and so on. Unfortunately, about once every three or four years, the Houston papers get up in arms over all the unpaid traffic and parking tickets and the police department does a sweep, where they cart anyone they catch with flagrant violations down to the hooscow until they ante up. Then everyone forgets the whole thing for another couple of years. I am assuming you made similar short work of the "regular". Sorry to disappoint you. I can see you do not view these things from a man's perspective. Best time to catch them is when they're grateful.
