You seem to be incapable of understanding the difference between a vectorizing compiler and the one merely supporting intrinsic function calls. The later requires special programming to use the intrinsic invocations. So your original statement about recompiling floating-point benchmarks to take advantage of SSE was bunk as you hopefully have realized by now.
