Another sign that Novell is serious about biometrics, from today's BusinessWire: "BW)(MN-DATACARD) Credentia Software Application Selected as One of Year's Best by Novell "MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 12, 1999--Credentia(TM), a Datacard Group(TM) company, announced today that its ViaNet(TM) identity information software has been selected as one of eight finalists for Novell's annual Network Developers Award. "ViaNet is a web-based application that allows users to insert and retrieve demographic data, biometric templates and full-color images from Novell(R) Directory Services (NDS) or any other ODBC data source. The software is a core product in the company's complete line of Intelligent Identity Systems(TM). "Credentia customized ViaNet for a large, U.S.-based airlines and submitted the solution for consideration in the Novell award program.
