What mind would make a connection between bonds rally and Internet stocks rally?

IMO:

Interest rates affect ALL stocks, i.e. the entire market.

I say, the past interest rates rise, [in spite that it is true that since February they have gone up], they will go down from here.

This based on the fact that I still believe that:

1. Inflation is tamed, [for now]

2. Many countries are viewing the US Dollar as "safe heaven".

Just recently Brazil and Argentina's currencies continue to look in trouble. The Argentinean elections in October could possible cause some problems for them due to the "potential" promises the eager leaders may be willing to give to their expecting voters.

_______

Now, assuming that interest rates do settle and indeed go down a bit, we could then assume that the equities market, may go up, depending on earning surprises of more fundamentally based companies.

The Internet, (AMZN included as one of their main protagonists), continues to be a speculation, and therefore, very much based on psychology, and momentum. --better put, the psychology of the momentum players. Fundamentals ? What fundamentals, whatever "projections" bear no real relationship to such fundamentals, it is all hopes and projections... Even on the companies that show earnings, as it seems that said earnings do not justify the high valuations.

The high prices are only explained by the larger number of buyers over the sellers, but as we have witnessed, that can change on a dime... [of earnings ?] <g>

For the time being I am pleased to see AMZN go down, and from here to Friday, I would like to see it go down even more.... I believe you said 107. Hmm that would be really interesting for me in particular, as my "locked" position may be able to "unlock" allowing me to take a profit (larger than expected, given the price levels and the "unlocking" of the position).

An unexpected situation, but one that I am contemplating intently... possibly with a growing smile, as the flying pig, becomes less airborne....

Then again, with this thing, it is like driving a truck full of nitroglicerin, any time it could explode...

So I will see what happens between now and Friday.
