Jim, Maxpain is a second order effect, IMO.

MaxPain is easily swamped by news, earnings, etc. It is utterely overwhelmed by news as big as MAcWorld pending.

I agree it will be fun to see how much AAPL dips after earnings. "Buy on the rumor, sell on the news" vs. "Macworld Runup! Buy on the dips!" AND we also have the amusement faction of "OH MY SPHYNCTER! I bought out of the money July Calls! EEEEE! EEEEE! I should have bought AUGUST!"

WRT the Max-Pain™/stock price divergence, it is not unique to APPL this month.

See the second half of #reply-10379085 For the reasons I speculated on or some other as yet unknown reason, there is an underlying factor causing an upside momentum for most stocks right now.
