Alps 1300 broken printer ribbons/cartridge. How to repair.

If you break one due to paper jam/whatever and there is lots of ribbon left on free spool. Use pocket knife/whatever and snap off one of the side plates Carefully. Strip tape from takeup spool, save the small piece of scotch tape that tapes the ribbon to spool. Use this to tape the part you are saving to the spool. Roll up a few turns. Replace Carefully. Snap on the side plate and take up a few more turns with your finger. BINGO. I just did that. Printed out a full page of color. Perfect. Not sure if it will last, think so. Use another cartridge to see how the ribbon is threaded thru' the guides.
