Not unless your a professional and keep an office. Then you have business expenses. Otherwise your profits go toward your annual income and your taxed accordingly. You can deduct losses up to 3000.00 per year. If you have 9000.00 in losses it will carry over and can be deducted up to 3000.00 the following year. That's the way I understand it to be. Maybe someone else has something to add.

I'm sure we even have experts here who can tell you first hand so I won't bother speculating on the topic even though I'm fairly certain of the rules. If you can't claim to be the daytrader because of another profession, I'm certain you can set up Jeannie as the daytrader and she can offset gains with losses and related expenses. Ie. ESignal, publications/subscriptions, computer depreciation, etc.
