If they have to subsidize it at the beginning to raise an awareness (and a dependence) on RMBS technology, then that is what they'll do. They'll consider it an investment in their future... I don't think it's all that dumb. Eventually we'll hit a wall with chip clock speeds. Moore's law can't go on forever. I know people out there are developing 2 gigahertz chips right now, and working out problems with mini-fridge boxes, water cooling, optical connections, etc. But memory systems will provide the next boost. Again, that's what I'm betting on. And again, I don't claim to be a tech guru. I think what I'm saying is right, based on all the layman-level reading I've been doing over the past year. If someone wants to poke holes in this post, I welcome it.
