Elmer - Re: "Wooooow! Fab30 was supposed to start up on .18u. Is this the first leak of trouble in paradise?"

Remember the AMD press release from a few months back where they stated that Fab 30 was designed FROM THE GROUND UP for copper ?

Just another Jerry Grease Job for the AMDiehards !

ELmer, re:<Is this the first leak of trouble in paradise?> The leak is in your head, Fudd. The "leak" you are quoting is obviously a 1996 press release:

The facility will start up utilizing AMD's 0.25m process technology and then migrate to 0.18m technology.
Planning for the facility is well under way with groundbreaking expected to take place by the end of 1996.

So, starting on .18u is actually an acceleration of Fab 30's original plan, not an indication of "trouble."
