Of course It's graphite you fool. I asked if he had any Scott or Sage rods and he insisted that the Penn was better ...The only Rod ever tested that got a perfect "10" rating...... Maybe he saw me coming I dunno. But I love it any way......It's perfect...casts are long, accurate, and effort less. The guy also told me that he believes that the Orvis is ten years behind the times.... I'm going back to "the gorge" [ that's what the locals call it ] the first chance I get...bringing my camera. If I can figure out how to do it will E mail you a picture of the place.Words can't do it justice. pez
