skeeter, ok i get it. now, i am ready to move on and discuss some of these other rambus issues. i will quit talking about pc's for a while if you will. let's talk about the other 65% of rmbs revenue base. this is what i see. ddr replaces sdram low end and mid range, short term. rmbs takes high end, by jan-feb all of it. by aug this year we will see k7 with rambus. sept brings camino. nlt june we get laptops with rambus. followed by timna for low end. in the mean time this years high end is next years mid. so rmbs has that too. some time next year or sooner intel will release the new server chip with rambus. by next year sdram 100 is gone. by 2001-2002 ddr is gone. anyone involved with computers has to switch to rmbs or be left behind. that includes amd and via. in the mean time sony releases the playstation II with rambus this year, and nintendo has new machine with rambus this year. even sega may use rambus..not sure about that one yet. at the same time we have hdtv and hd dvd with rambus. then we get copiers, scanners and printers with rambus. and then we have texas instr using rambus in telephone equip now. when do we get our first announcement that rmbs is in embedded processors. can't wait for that. rmbs is going to need 5 bean counters just to get all the royalty checks to the bank every day. amd can compete short term. that has always been a given for this year; rambus was never scheduled for complete market dominance for this year. it took sdram 100 two years to take over. when timna is released, amd has to switch. period. unclewest
