If this comes to pass (IIXC acquisition) it will have proven once and for all how good a contrarian indicator I am to the W-A team's moves (contrast my message uplink from yours). In that post, I stated, "One has to decide whether or not they want to embrace the legacy component in addition to the future of the optical networking domain (like QWST has done) or to build to the future and take a scorched earth approach to all that has gone before (like LVLT has, sorta, done)."

I also argued later, for the strong need by GBLX for a robust IP presence, since at the present time GBLX is extremely naked in that area. IIXC doesn't cut it in this respect, I'm afraid, to the same extent as a FRO or ABOV would. We'll see.
