It seems like you get more flavor with local color. Actually, I'm a home boy and only go out under coersion. So, even if I did happen on something good I couldn't take credit. The best place was Mum's Cottage in Ashland Oregon. They had a policy to hire foriegn drifters for one week only to cook. The Cook got room and board in exchange for cooking the specialty of their home land. That way there was always something unique and wholesome on the menu. that was twenty-five years ago. This is the first time I remember discussing eating on this thread btw. I find it real boring. I'm surprised you asked. I skipped over all the fish stories you guys were passing around too.
