anyone: has this been discussed on the ABX thread ?

Does it strike you that one major gold producer is conspicuously
missing from this group?

Chairman and chief executives at Canada's Placer Dome , U.S. Miners
Newmont Gold and Homestake Mining , South Africans Anglogold and Gold
Fields and Ghana's Ashanti Goldfields , sought Blair's response to
rumours that reserve sales were to bale out firms running short
positions in gold.

<<An additional 12 million ounces (NEM's three years of production) could possibly be sold forward by ABX.>>

Who would buy $US400 gold when they can get it from the CB's at $US256? Or that is not how this works? Or stated alternatively, who buys this gold that is sold foward?

<<Heard a rumor on the yahoo NEM thread that two different companies were in talks to purchase NEM. Does anyone have more solid info?>>
I don't buy it, Sorros holds controlling interest in NEM.
