I have actually ejoyed some constructive, interesting discussions here. Unfortunately, however, it only takes one or two jerks to come along and spoil it for everybody else.

Well jbe, I suppose you're right. Just goes to highlight a theory I've been considering lately. There is a big difference between an educated person and a learned person (empasis on ed in learned). A learned person has a degree and that's about it. In other words, they figured out a system to obtain a grade, whether they truly learned anything is up for grabs. An educated person took the courses as a blue-print to engage their mind and explore theories and knowledge in depth. In the process, internalizing the subject matter.

Also goes to show why emotional intelligence is such an interesting field of study.

Not that I am saying I'm "learned" or "educated". But I aspire to be truly educated one day.

I also like the word responsible. Broken down it makes a lot of sense. Re-sponse-able. We can all choose to respond any way we elect.
