How about a Handspring ? Co-Founder Ms Dubinsky once worked for AAPL

Upon leaving Palm (1998) they don't want to be part of a larger company (like AAPL?).

However read about their "cool" coming hand-held product and their independence , it makes one think different:

=====
" The company's Palm OS license is not an exclusive one, leaving
Handspring free to use other operating systems, but Hawkins isn't
interested in working with Microsoft's Windows CE operating system.

"I just don't think I can build a good product using Windows CE," he
said flatly.

The duo expect to deliver their first product in 12 to 18 months, by
which time the price tag for handheld computers will have fallen from about $400 today to $199 or less, Hawkins predicted. Dubinsky said the devices could sell for as low as $99.

The couple have licensed all the language versions of Palm OS,
allowing Handspring to target markets worldwide with their initial
product, Dubinsky said.
=====
Here's where (at least in 1998) they wouldn't fit with AAPL.
=====
"We intend to be a manufacturer. We intend to have a sales channel,
and to build a brand," she said. "We've been successful with it before and we can do it again." "

Mark , MaxPain and options were just musings , as is Handspring .

I've been tracking a number of "big six" theories since March and that was one of them .
