Well, the bottom of your period saw Canaccord almost exclusively buying all the stock, in rather large lots. That could indeed be short covering, but they didn't sell that stock earlier in the day.

Up until then they sold less than 1500 shares. First Marathon was busy buying too, and before that they had only sold about 4,000 shares. Actually, First Marathon was very busy on the buy side all day.

If you don't ignore the little trades, would you at least think warrant less weight? Claude pointed out the spread on SWG earlier: I'm not going to get too excited if someone comes along and gaps the stock up a buck with change from lunch.

it's too easy to get caught up in the analysis of trades though. Someone two weeks ago suggested the selling coming out of a couple of houses wasa bad indication, but not only did history not back that up, two days later the stock was up $2.
