I have a problem with anyone who says "no more crashes" or "the absolute solution" to a problem we all experience close to - if not more - than once a day. All server environments can be brought down by hard or soft crashes. Hard - meaning H/W failures and soft - meaning unexpected downtime of a service like e-mail or web access.

Most environments created to support the user base can be made fully redundant. It all depends on Management's desire to spend the money and staff appropriate resources properly according to the way the equipment is being used. EBay is a pure, black-and-white situation where management is unaware of how to allow technical people create the enviroment that Management hired them to do in the first place.

NT Server, Solaris, and even Linux can be used to create a fully fault tolerant environment to the point where the user is not aware of the seriousness of any situation. It's all about people and money.

If MSGI has the answer to this age old problem I am sure they would be worth more then $300 million by now. Don't bank on it though.

It is the same thing as airlines not touting safety records in commercials. Even they know something will happen to them one day.
