MCOM has a lot of "in your face"

project managers here on the New York Build, so most beuracratic obsticles are admireably avoided. the main annoyance is the city's permit requirement for every SINGLE lamp post, which at a $50 filing fee, plus the clerical overhead to manage these permits, turns into a ridiculous imposition considering they will be doing well over 3,000 poles. Radio transmitter right of way for the hubs has gone well in New York as building managers are used to all the cellular, cable, and phone companies that lease a few meters of their roofs or basements.

BTW, many New York Sedan Cab's already have credit card based meters and metered cellphone usage payment systems without waiting for MCOM. Burst transactional system like this don't really need or want this kind of system, but I agree that MCOM's applications are only limited by your imagination. Maybe cabs and coach busses could have and metered RJ45 ethernet connections that would allow you to get on the internet with you own laptop while your stuck in traffic.
