Yes I was talking about my personal obsession which is the cable modem last mile.

If it were possible to combine say 4 downstream frequency channels (assume 40mbit) then sell partitions of the 160mbit to individual ISP's then each ISP could operate in its own space and not effect the performance of another.
Probably the simplest way would involve assigning specific #'s of time slots for each ISP to use.

Thanks everyone for the replies. My interpretation of what everyone has said is that it is surely possible, but would need to be architected and equiptment designed for the purpose. Pretty much what I figured. Wouldnt happen very quickly.
