From your home or business to the Central Office of your Telco you are not shared with DSL. From there on you are on a network and sharing. With dedicated access and a static IP if you allow sharing you are an open book to the rest of the net.

Anyone else have a take on the difference in security between DSL and Cable? What if any underlaying difference is there?

Candace I don't think there is that much difference, either you have security or not and that is a matter of what you provide on your system not a function of your type of connection.
