I thought SWS was using those shares as collateral in some bonds they were offering to the public.

Today's dump was just trading. I covered my short from yesterday at 52 1/2 courtesy of FBCO that was trying to push NITE down. CIBC and MLCO joined, REDI was also there with its customary big sell on the ask. But the bounce was very strong, I went long at 52 3/4, and will continue to trade. This is just a stupid sell-off.
