Brandybgood: QCOM (general comment). The announcement of a secondary offering almost always puts a cap on the stock. i.e. a temporary top. QCOM's "secondary" may be a bit different since it's relate to the company's addition to the index and the need for overallotments. Check the number of shares outstanding, check the "float"...see if 4 million shares is a meaningful amount or inconsequential. NITE's announcement of a "secondary" in early Feb '99 put a lid on the stock, the stock dropped 10-12 points. On Feb 26, the day of the secondary which was priced at $35 the stock dropped to 32 7/8, I was fortunate in picking up some at 33 1/2 and more up to 39. Then it was up, up, and away. (Lee)
