You are a braver man than I am, Teflon. October scares me, and MSFT 85 in October scares me too. But then, as a trader, I'm easily scared<g>. BTW, why not play LEAPS instead? Ties up capital sometimes, but hey, you can trade those too, you know!

These are all 'safe' stocks IMHO. However, very unfortunately, all these issues will trade significantly lower in Oct. than what they are right now. MSFT probably will take the smallest dip, but 80 is very likely.

Anyway, I sold puts all the time and although most of the times, I made a nice fortune out of those, there are times that things can get really ugly. I guess that there was this famous guy whose account ballooned up from 50k to over 7 million in a few years, yet that infamous 1987 crash totally wiped out his account and he ended up owing the brokerage house money.

BTW, I will consider selling Oct. puts when AOL dips to 100-105, YHOO! to 120-130, MSFT to below 85.

I am also planning to unload nearly everything before the earnigns season is over. Right now it's buy into any dips. Soon in two weeks, it will be sell(short) into every sucker rally.

good luck,
larry
